Spina Bifida Sweetheart in fire!

Donation protected

Today I saw Laura ,it's taken 2 1/2 years ,but she is now out of Physical therapy, and strong !We are trying to get her out of the nursing home,we have applied to many different programs trying to find her housing. It's a hard road to get accepted even with her spina bifida and the trauma she has endured! But she is positve, and we won't give up! She has so much to give back to the community! She has her masters in social work and can't wait to find a job! But she needs a home and MOST VIP, a handicapped van- any van we can  have retrofited! Imagine losing everything, even your legs and then  your lifeline handicapped van to the apartent fire, then having all your money stolen, we have had two donated wheelchairs stolen in nursing homes and one man took two months of her disability check just recently- we caught it but he got away with almost $2000.00 . Social security, wont help us recover the money..Did you know  that Americans living in nursing homes on social security or disability  funds get to keep ONLY$60.00 of their $ 920.00 check? They really are held hostage with no way to recover or get out,no way to save $ and start over .It could happen to anyone!! But we will succeed with your help!!

Christmas of 2012, Laura,(53) lost her apartment to a devastating fire in Austin, Texas. Her roommate, Casey, carried her to safety.

Laura has spina bifida and has no legs. Although she is disabled, she went to college and received 2 masters degrees in social work. The very profession she chose to do is now her lifeline. Navigating the "system" has been difficult, at best. The fire burned the entire apartment complex to the ground, destroying everything she owned, including her handicapped van! The van was her only ability to support herself! Even her wheelchair burned.

Lauras' Story-Please Help!Urgent Funds needed!!!
She had her entire life savings stolen by the people she trusted most, who took her in after the accident. They betrayed her. A criminal investigation is pending, but it could be years before Laura sees any repayment if at all. Through a compliated double cross, they had her sign her house deed over, and in Texas, that's all they needed to remove her name from her own home and add theirs!
She was dropped off at a motel 6 type-place on the side of a highway that is not handicapped accessible.

My name is Lar Park Lincoln, Americas Audition Coach (www.larparklincoln.com), and you may know me as Linda Fairgate from 5 years of Knots Landing, or Friday the 13th Part 7, or as a QVC celebrity guest host!  I have a short video to you show you  the fire in Austin as well as how she has to shut the door where she is currently staying. She has to use her fingers in the door jam. When I got to her  after learning she had been dumped off at this motel, I saw my friend filthy, hungry, in dangerous surroundings, and unable to leave. She lost 21 pounds from being unable to shop, cook or reach the counters, etc. I need to get her into an apartment back in Dallas that is near public transportation,  and a handicapped vehicle. She can then work again and begin rebuilding her life after the numerous tragedies she has experienced.

Thank you in advanced for your heartfelt donations to help Laura smile and stand on her own again.
