Laura's Lymphoma Journey 2

Tax deductible
Last year I started fundraising for Lymphoma Action and was utterly overwhelmed by the response I received and that over £6000 was raised, thank you everybody so much! This year, I had so many plans to fundraise more money however Covid-19 has changed that!

However now more then ever charities need fundraising! Currently, UK charities are having to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable people need them and staff are being furloughed, the lack of fundraising events such as London Marathon have been cancelled and this has caused charities to receive less money. I have decided with the help of my two best friends and my boyfriend to do 2.6 challenge in which we will complete 26 days of yoga! We will be doing yoga every day for 26 days!

I have chosen to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. After being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, I started chemotherapy at the Christie Hospital. I was fortunate enough to be treated under the young persons ward and was and continue to be supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust. The TCT ward at Christie is absolutely amazing and I have been lucky enough to be assigned by own TCT nurse, Charlene whom is a massive support to my family and I and is an angel. Within the ward, there are numerous social spaces and there are a number of events throughout the year to help, support and allow us to socialise together. I cannot explain how the support of TCT has been to use and it was so important to also fundraise money for this amazing charity.

Please see more of my story below:

I, Laura was diagnosed with Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

Following my diagnosis, I created three aims; to beat Lymphoma, write a blog and raise money for charity as I wanted to ensure I kept busy throughout my journey. I feel it is so important and also beneficial to raise money to support these charities as I think the support they provide is invaluable and often overlooked.

The Teenage Cancer Trust create world class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don't have to face cancer alone.

Thank you so much for reading my story and donating. If you have a moment to share this and read my blog, it would be very much appreciated: https://livinglifewithlarry.blogspot.com.
