Hi everyone.  This is Laura.  I am starting this go fund me as a result of my degrading health issues that have been ongoing for the past 4 years.  Over the  last 3 months I've reached a critical point with my weight dropping to 88 pounds caused by malnutrition, malabsorption, and GI issues that are greatly affecting my quality of life.  I am currently working with a functional medicine doctor, GI specialist, nutritionist, chiropractor, and still need counseling help and potentially another type of specialist depending on more pending test results.  We do know that I have GI dysbiosis explaining some symptoms but the underlying cause is still unknown.  Treatments are all trial and error based and hence are taking a financial, physical,  emotional, and psychological toll.  <br /><br />Currently, I cannot sustain full time work as my body is not reliable and I'm trying to work when I can but it is up and down.  This fundraiser will help me to cover medical expenses as I strive to get answers and to get healthy.   Also, I'm not eligible for health insurance from the small business I work for and all doctors, tests, treatments and supplements have added up to well over 13k+ that I have paid for out of pocket this year alone.  So, any little bit of financial support would help.  <br /><br />To reach out and ask for this type of support has been a long and difficult decision to make as I have always been financially self-sufficient and this is not familiar ground for me.  In addition, it would also help me tremendously to have communication with any of you whenever anyone has some time.  The community support aspect of this has been crucial and lacking as this has alienated me from so much of my life.  I appreciate and love all of you for taking the time to read this.  I will continue to fight each and every day to be the best I can be for myself and all of you in my life!
