Laura vs Lymphoma

Donation protected
After 2 months of high fevers and generally feeling unwell, and following a splenectomy (owing to a massively enlarged spleen) and a hysterectomy (owing to a large fibroid tumor), at age 38, Laura was diagnosed with cancer in October 2018.

Her cancer is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

Laura has begun the first of what will be several prolonged chemotherapy treatments. Because of this, she will be unable to work and probably will not be able to return to work until at least spring 2019.  She has already been unable to work for a few months due to her illness, and will now have to go through months of chemo. She is having a great deal of anxiety about what her situation will be once she has returned to health. We (her sisters) are trying to help her keep her apartment, keep her car, and keep her bills up to date, in anticipation of the time when she will be able to resume work.

She is someone who has spent most of her adult life volunteering with an organization that feeds the homeless. She selflessly devoted most of her time and energy to Food Not Bombs and has no savings.

Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated.  Everything we can do to help and surround Laura with love is what is most important so she can focus on beating this thing.  Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
