Dear Friends and Family,
The students of the Laura Vicuña Pre-Kindergarten of Saints Peter and Paul School will participate in a walk-a-thon fundraiser on May 24th, 2019. The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide financial support for students who otherwise would not be able to attend.
The great majority of working families must pay for childcare as public options are still extremely limited in California. The Laura Vicuña Pre-K has provided a well-rounded education for 3-5 year olds for 30 years. Since many of our students continue at SSPP School we are able to see the fruits of our efforts as they successfully advance through the next nine years of school. We regularly receive positive feedback from current and former parents. One parent recently wrote, "the curriculum, community and sense of family and tradition absolutely won us over. This program sets the foundation for a solid education and a genuine sense of community."
The ultimate endorsement of our program is the number of former students, now parents themselves, who have enrolled their children in the LV Pre-K. It is our goal to send happy and well-prepared children to kindergarten. A goal achieved, according to SSPP School kindergarten teacher, Yvonne Soracco, who said, "I find the children who have attended The Laura Vicuña Pre-K to be very prepared. The kids come into kindergarten recognizing letters and numbers, knowing how to share, take turns, and are happy to be in school."
Please help us provide deserving children with the opportunity to have the building blocks for a quality education.
Founded in 1987, Laura Vicuña Pre-Kindergarten is a faith-based, non-profit organization 501(c)(3) located in San Francisco's historic Washington Square in the heart of North Beach. Its mission is to inspire an early love of learning for all the children who attend. The school provides a supportive and stimulating learning environment and myriad opportunities for students to develop their spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, emotional and creative selves in preparation for kindergarten.
