Dear Generous Funder,

We come to you with a heavy heart because one of our dear choir members, our lead soprano, Laura Vicari has a very aggressive cancer which she is valiantly fighting with radiation and chemotherapy. Happily, she has been accepted into a medical trial that we pray will give her additional days. When we visited Laura recently, besides showing us her courage and very sunny disposition, she expressed her concern about no longer having the income she and her elderly father need to meet their daily needs. “I don’t know what we’re going to do,” she said. We don’t want her to have this concern weigh her down when she already has so much to fight.

Laura has a beautiful voice which she has shared with us now for 10 years as our lead soprano cantor at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Come rain or shine, Laura has been there at our Vigil Mass on Saturday and at many Masses every Sunday helping our congregation to worship meaningfully through music. She has also been a chorister at the Palm Beach Opera for the past 12 years, a vocal teacher for 31 years, and a freelance soprano opera singer for 30 years. Laura honed her singing and teaching skills at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. One of her students says of her, “Laura is an accomplished singer and voice teacher. She helps and challenges me to grow my vocal abilities and has helped me to achieve new success.” She loves opera dearly and proudly, as shown by her license plate, “Opera Singer.”

At St. Joan of Arc, she also challenges us to grow as singers, as worshippers, and as loving human beings. She has been very dedicated to our community and is very deserving of our help in her time of need. Surely, we are most anxious for her to concentrate all of her energy on her health and happiness.

We know you are a very generous person and we come to you with a very worthy cause. If, as a donor, you value quality of life, comfort during a difficult time… If you have had a loved one who has fought cancer and want to honor that person by helping another… If you appreciate Laura’s love of and commitment to her music, to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, and to the Palm Beach Opera… If you’re a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music or the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University… If you are just a loving human being with a giving heart, this Fund Me cause is perfect for you.

Please give amply and lovingly and THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your attention to this cause and for your generosity. If you have any questions, please call (561) [phone redacted].
