Laura & Bob House Fire Fund

Saturday July 1st Laura went outside her home on Gabriola Island, BC, to watch the fireworks celebrating Canada 150.  The next thing she knew her house was totally engulfed in flames.  The family lost everything.  Even though they do have insurance it will take a considerable effort to rebuild their life.

Bob was on the ferry returning to Gabriola from Nanaimo , which was slowing down to let passengers enjoy the fireworks.  

It took the fire department quite a while to find their house, as they are hidden away on Gabriola.  The fire was very stubborn.  Despite the best efforts of the crew, the house was a total loss.
