<div>My girlfriend has hEDS, MCAS, and POTS, and she needs a full-body compression wrap. The ones designed for hypermobility conditions run anywhere from $300 to $600+. That's just not something we can easily afford on top of everything else that comes with managing her conditions.

<div>Then I started talking about it online and realized she wasn't alone. Hundreds of people reached out, saying they were in the exact same spot. They needed something like this, but couldn't afford what was available. So I started a company, LymmCo, with the goal of making low-cost hypermobility aids for the people who actually need them.

<div>That's SpoonWrap. A full-body compression wrap built for people with hEDS, POTS, MCAS, and related hypermobility conditions, with direct input from the community through a survey posted on my website, <a href="https://Lymmco.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LymmCo</a>. I'm aiming to sell it for around $200, and I'll be open about exactly why it costs what it costs as development moves forward. I don't think people who are already dealing with this much should have to wonder if they're being taken advantage of.

<div>The thing that really gets me is how the system fails people like her on the bad days. When a flare hits, she can't walk, and I have to hold her up so she doesn't fall in the grocery store. But because her bad days aren't every day, she doesn't qualify for a disability pass. So even when she needs a wheelchair, she still can't park somewhere that actually helps or use an elevator when the stairs are too much. There's no category for her.

<div>I've been documenting everything on social media under Cold Sewer Engineering. The whole R&amp;D process, testing, failures, and progress are available for you to follow, because I think the people waiting on this deserve to see what's actually being built for them. Without a patent, nothing really stops a big company from seeing what I've built, making their own version, and selling it for $500 while locking me out of getting it to everyone at a fair price. The patent keeps SpoonWrap in the hands of the community it was made for.
