<div>Lucky Boy Rescue is named after Bodhi, a blocky-headed shelter dog I adopted years ago. We ended up featured on ABC Local 10 News in a story about second chances — the kind of story where a dog people once feared becomes the center of a feel-good moment.

<div>That experience opened my eyes:

<div>Pit bull–type dogs have huge hearts, huge potential, and almost no safety net.

<div>One setback — housing, medical costs, job instability — can push a dog back into the system through no fault of their own.

<div>The initial dogs and humans we are helping in South Florida — medical care, food, transportation, and short-term stability so they don’t fall through the cracks.
