Helps With Arthritis Light Wave Key Grip

Donation protected

Hi there,

I'm Armond Floyd, a New Jersey-based inventor. I'd like to launch my Light Wave Key Grip product line to help with dexterity when opening, locking, and unlocking doors during the day and at night.

This product will be a useful addition to anyone’s catalog of practical household items. The ergonomic device will add leverage and comfort to house keys of any size, providing turning torque to assist in the unlocking of doorknobs and locksets. Contouring to the user’s hand, the fully ergonomic device will be especially beneficial to the AARP community, who often find difficulty in the locking and unlocking of doorknobs. Overall the product line will benefit folks with arthritic complications greatly.

Several years back I had a gig as a line cook in a hotel. While working there full time I experienced long hours on my feet during a single
shift. My coworkers were an awesome bunch! with great charismatic attributes.. they came from all walks of life. During shifts I would be
dealing with kitchen knives, cutlery, and a good deal of other utensils. Then it comes time to leave and before I know it I'm at either my
front or back door fumbling with jagged ends of keys.. letting alone trying to find the right one for the door. Try dealing with this is the dark after a long grueling shift with a dim porch light if anything!.. Regular key bows/ends are jagged and dig into hand palms/fingers. To sum it up they're uncomfortable! At the time I was working with my hands frequently when I had an aha lightbulb moment. I thought "how about I come up with a really cool key cover/flashlight product idea that will fully conform to a users thumb/hand". The idea that I dreamed up was
a device that could offer users great turning torque by adding leverage to a key in the dark/nighttime or during the daytime for opening,
locking, and unlocking doors/lock-sets. To add gimmick flare to the product idea I infused the design-aesthetic with things I love.. which is the tropical look/feel of an ocean and boogie boarding.

* The shape for this product I had in mind is that it would be in the artsy shape/frame of a wave with a surf vibe contouring
to a users hand with a semi-squishy feel for a full ergonomic grasp.

My grandfather on my moms side suffered a stroke back in 1998 at 73 years old. He was required to use a spring resistant hand gripper to gain mobility back in his hands to alleviate joint tenderness. Also.. my grandmother on my fathers side suffered joint pain in her arms and
hands. She complained about holding small items and how uncomfortable they were for her to grasp.. including house keys.

* I really felt bad for them and seeing my grandfather have to use a hand grip exerciser put a frown on my face.. because I knew he was
suffering to some extent. Part of the reason why I'd like to pursue the idea is that I can deliver folks a cool, and ergonomic product to make
life a little easier.

* I think about this project venture non stop every day. It's (Extremely Important) to me that it gets off the ground and succeeds!..

Please help this campaign which will allow me to fulfill my mission. Our goal is to get this cool, hip, and ergonomic product line in the
hands of folks who will feel the aiding benefit.

* We have direct quotes from my reputable prototype guy all ready to go and need the help of backers.

Every dollar from each contributor is greatly appreciated!!.. and will help lift this product line off the ground.

* Most importantly I thank each and every one of you who takes the time to view this campaign!

No more frustrating fiddling of the lockset to fully turn your key; the Light Wave Key Grip enables the quick and efficient unlocking of doors through practically applied material engineering. Part grip-assist, part flashlight, and part keyring, my invention is geared to allow
ease and dexterity while opening locked doors day or night.

The Light Wave Key Grip, despite the name, actually contains two separate grips. For the initial product, I will include a right-side grip along with a mirror image reverse left grip. The inclusion of both will allow both the locking and unlocking of doors, whether the user is right or left-handed. The grip is cleverly designed to fit comfortably around the user’s thumb, and the soft and durable material makes it extremely comfortable to use.

Rendering below will show how a user will activate the device at night. Their ultimate goal is to rely on the
light beam to insert into a lockset for gaining comfortable turning torque once the key is in the lockset:
