Help Us Feed 30 Rescued Children in Belize
At the Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Children's Home in Belize, precious children find a place of hope, love, safety, education, and opportunity.
These are the abused, abandoned, and orphaned. The unwanted, troubled, and forgotten.
Every child in the home is a story of God's incredible pursuit to care for the least of these. Each child is redeemed for a purpose, and given hope for a future. The orphans find family, and a love that will not leave them.
Why the Need for Food?
LOL Children’s home has quickly grown to over 30 children in the past two years. Along with the rapid growth of LOL have come challenges to provide everything that each child deserves. Yet even the most basic necessities provide the structure and security that these children need.
Shelter, nurture, and food are the most vital of needs. Often the children who arrive at the children’s home are severely malnourished. They may be underweight, unacquainted with hygiene, and carrying parasites in their bodies.
At LOL these children are cared for, nursed to health, and placed onto a path for a better future. Food is one of the single largest expenses at the LOL Children’s Home. As you may have guessed, there is no Super Walmart in southern Belize. It’s a lot of work to acquire proper nutrition at affordable prices for these growing children, but LOL manages to do it.
How You Can Help…
In spite of the regional challenges concerning grocery shopping, LOL is able to feed the children wholesome and nutritious meals at a cost of only $2.00 per meal per child. This equates to about $180.00 a day.
With their budget stretched tight this holiday season, we want to make sure LOL Children’s Home has enough money to feed the children without having to worry about the cost of food going into 2015.
By raising enough funds to feed the children in 2015, we can take a lot of stress off the LOL Children’s Home, and ensure that each child will receive 3 healthy meals each day, without cutting into the budget of other important areas like education.
You can donate any dollar amount to provide meals for these children. You'll see specific levels of donation where you can earn a reward with your giving. $60 pays for one mealtime. $180 pays for a day. $540 pays for 3 days. $1260 provides LOL with meals for a week, $5040 pays for the month of February, $10620 pays for the entire first two months of the year, and $65,700 pays for all of 2015.
Thank you for your help to keep giving these rescued children a “new normal” with love and purpose. You are giving them hope that will prepare them to change the story of their personal lives, their families, their villages, and their nation.
