In Ecuador, 1 in 5 children under the age of five suffers from chronic undernutrition. Many Ecuadorian families are suffering from undernutrition and hunger. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened this situation.
Hi there. We hope you are doing well and staying safe in these uncertain times. We, Yanapana Project, an Ecuadorian NGO, are reaching to you to help us help Ecuadorian families living with malnutrition and whose situations have been worsened by the current pandemic of COVID-19. Here’s how you can help us:
From February 16-20, 2021, the Ecuadorian Students Association (ESA) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and us are organizing Latin Week: A Fundraiser, an online fundraising event to support our objective of fighting malnutrition and hunger in Ecuador. Each night, we will host a different event such as a zumba class, a theater performance, a spanish lesson and a vegan cooking lesson, so that the attendees have the opportunity to pick the activity of their interest. These events will allow participation and interactions with the host of the night as well as with other participants. At the end of each day, we will select the winner of a prize that will be awarded on our closing night. All funds collected from the sale of tickets for the event will directly support Ecuadorian families facing undernutrition and hunger.

En Ecuador, 1 de cada 5 niños menores de cinco años sufre desnutrición crónica. Muchas familias ecuatorianas están sufriendo desnutrición y hambre. Desafortunadamente, la pandemia de COVID-19 ha agravado esta situación.
Hola. Esperamos que te encuentres bien y te mantengas sano en estos tiempos inciertos. Nosotros, Proyecto Yanapana, una ONG ecuatoriana, te contactamos para ayudarnos a ayudar a las familias ecuatorianas que viven con desnutrición y cuya situación se ha agravado por la actual pandemia del COVID-19. Así es como puedes ayudarnos:
Del 16 al 20 de febrero de 2021, la Asociación de Estudiantes Ecuatorianos de la Universidad de British Columbia (UBC) y nosotros estamos organizando Latin Week: A Fundraiser, un evento virtual de recaudación de fondos para apoyar nuestro objetivo de combatir la desnutrición y el hambre en Ecuador. Cada noche, organizaremos un evento diferente como una clase de zumba, una presentación teatral, una lección de español y una clase de cocina vegana, para que los asistentes tengan la oportunidad de elegir la actividad de su interés. Estos eventos permitirán la participación e interacción con el anfitrión de la noche, así como con otros participantes. Al final de cada día, seleccionaremos al ganador de un premio que se entregará en nuestra noche de cierre. Todos los fondos recaudados por la venta de boletos para el evento apoyarán directamente a las familias ecuatorianas que enfrentan desnutrición y hambre.
