<div>Mijn naam is Stephen Emmer, componist. Ik vind het nodig dat we Rob Scholte gaan helpen na zijn jarenlange worsteling met de onbarmhartigheid van zijn omstandigheden en maatschappelijke omgeving.

<div>Rob Scholte is een internationaal vermaard en gerespecteerd kunstenaar. denk bv. aan zijn beroemde werken als in Nagasaki, het copyright-teken en Utopia.

<div>Parallel aan dit artistieke en commerciële succes kwamen er ook zware tegenslagen zoals het autoincident met explosieven, waardoor hij zijn beide benen verloor en zijn nog ongeboren kind.

<div>de gevolgen grepen uiteraard diep in op zijn kwaliteit van leven én manier van werken. jaren duurde het voor hij zich weer wist op te richten door het Rob Scholte Museum in Den Helder, Nederland op te richten. Hier raakte hij verstrikt in de ambtelijke molen van de plaatselijke gemeente en werd zo slachtoffer van de hardvochtige bureaucratie en diende, wederom, zijn droom op te geven en hierdoor het inmiddels landelijk bekende particuliere museum, waar hij zelf woonde en werkte te verlaten.

<div>een jarenlange juridische strijd volgde en bracht hem steeds dieper in de problemen, zowel sociaal als artistiek en helaas ook financieel door een gebrek aan werkplaats en het oa daardoor stokken van de produktie. de bestaande werken staan al jarenlang in een gemeentelijke opslag en komen pas vrij na aflossing van schulden. in deze maatschappelijke vicieuze cirkel zit hij momenteel en moet hij na dit alles noodgedwongen weer in zijn ouderlijk huis wonen op zijn oude jongenskamer.

<div>wij willen hem nu helpen door bij deze een oproep te doen om Rob financieel te steunen middels deze campagne, want het kan niet zo zijn dat we onze grote kunstenaars niet meer willen eren en al helemaal niet individuen die door een ernstige handicap zelf kwetsbaar en beperkt zijn geworden in de kou laten staan.

<div>Rob Scholte is an internationally renowned and respected artist. Think, for example, of his famous works such as Nagasaki, the copyright symbol, and Utopia.
</div>
<div>Alongside this artistic and commercial success came severe setbacks, such as the car incident involving explosives, which caused him to lose both legs and his unborn child.
</div>
<div>The consequences naturally had a profound impact on his quality of life and on the way he worked. It took years before he managed to rebuild his life by establishing the Rob Scholte Museum in Den Helder, the Netherlands. There he became entangled in the bureaucratic machinery of the local municipality and once again fell victim to harsh bureaucracy, ultimately being forced to abandon his dream and leave the now nationally known private museum, where he himself lived and worked.

<div>A years-long legal battle followed and drove him ever deeper into trouble, both socially and artistically, and unfortunately also financially, due to a lack of workspace and, among other things, the resulting halt in production. His existing works have been in municipal storage for years and will only be released once the debts have been paid off. He is currently trapped in this social vicious circle and, after all this, is forced to live once again in his parents’ house, in his old childhood bedroom.

<div>We now want to help him by making an appeal to support Rob financially through this campaign, because it cannot be right that we no longer wish to honor our great artists, and certainly not leave individuals who have become vulnerable and limited through a serious disability out in the cold.
</div>
<div>This appeal is for everyone who has an affinity with the arts and believes that more compassion is called for here.
