LaTalya's Fight With Cancer

In October 2017, our colleague and friend LaTalya Palmer heard four words she never thought she’d hear---“You have breast cancer”.  She was diagnosed in a late stage with a very rare and aggressive form of breast cancer and is currently undergoing a vigorous regimen of chemotherapy.   Immediately following the chemotherapy, LaTalya will undergo a couple of radical surgeries and then a course of radiation therapy.   Once all of these treatments are completed, she will then undergo reconstructive surgery and recovery.   It is expected that the events described will consume the entirety of this year. 

After suffering through nausea, chronic fatigue, fragility, losing over twenty pounds and other side effects, LaTalya found alternative treatments to help strengthen her immune system in between chemotherapy treatments.  In spite of all of this, LaTalya remains strong, upbeat and very optimistic of defeating this disease.

So why the GoFundMe?

The financial needs are beginning to mount when you consider that in addition to LaTalya still being required to handle normal living expenses for her and her family, she is now burdened with significant expenditures for medical co-payments, supplements, alternative treatments and additional transportation costs.  It is expected that she will also have to bear some of the cost for a home health attendant after her surgery and possibly a housekeeper to ensure a clean home environment to allow her weak immune system to recover.   

LaTalya currently has two young teenagers still at home and her daughter returned home to assist her mother while attending college part-time and working.  As you can imagine, this is quite traumatic for the entire family.  Any help you provide is much appreciated.
