Rick passed away on April 22, 2018. He was a loving father, and a skilled fisherman and hunter. A simple man who loved nature, his favorite places to be were in the woods or near the water. God bless his sweet soul.
For those of you who have known me and my boys for a long time, you probably also know of their Dad, Rick Howey. Rick was recently diagnosed with advanced, terminal cancer. It has spread rapidly and he is now in the hospital in Florida near Tyler. He is expected to move to Hospice over the next few days. We hope he can get some relief from pain to have a few more months of life and be able to meet his two new Grandsons, due in June (from Tyler and Soni) and in July (from Cole and Matrika).
As you may remember, Rick has always been an avid fisherman. His last wish, as he described it to Tyler, is to have his ashes made into an Eternal Reef, providing a place for fish to swim, grow, and play all around his remains. My boys want very much to make this happen for him, but we need a little help. Rick has not been one to collect a lot of worldly possessions, so we are starting from scratch and really need donations. Any amount would be greatly valued for a lifetime of appreciation. This gift will give some comfort to a gentle man and his two loving sons, who will lose each other very soon. Please, will you help us make this happen for them? I try to help others in every way I can, and I don't ask a lot in return. Today, I hope you can see into my heart and know that I am asking...with love and hope...that my friends and their friends will join together and give as generously as you can for this beautiful eternal gift.
