Last Chance to Save my Mums Life

Donation protected
Back in 2005, my mum, Sandi Clark was 43 and got diagnosed with Stage 2B Breast Cancer. My brother and I were still children at the time and had little to no idea what was going on while my mum had to get a Mastectomy, Hysterectomy and battle through chemo to deal with her cancer.

For the next 9 years everything was fine, my mum was able to go back to work and considered herself a cancer survivor. Then one day I woke up to the sound of my mum screaming in pain, I quickly called an ambulance and we got to the hospital to find out that my mum’s cancer had returned and spread to the bones in her spine. At that point she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Since then we’ve done everything that we could to help my mum battle her cancer, she had multiple radiotherapy treatments to reduce the size of the tumour before having a 6-hour surgery to remove the spine tumour and insert 5 pairs of rods and screws.

Once again, we thought Mum was finally safe until the doctor told us, a couple of months later, that the cancer had spread further, in her spine and her neck and into her lung. That is when my mum was diagnosed as being Terminally ill and had to continue radiotherapy. This time the radiotherapy wasn’t enough to shrink the tumours, so she stopped radiotherapy in favour of chemotherapy about a year ago. In the past year, mum has had 16 rounds of various chemotherapies, changing every 3 months because the chemotherapy was ineffective and when she went back to try radiotherapy she was denied because the tumour had grown too close to her heart.

Now in March of 2018, the tumour in Mum’s lung has grown to be 5cm wide and is about to press on her heart and the only option left for treatment is Immunotherapy which will cost $3500 every 2 weeks for 2 years. She started her first bout this week. If you’re reading this and you can’t afford to help us out, please share this story to your friends and family, please do anything you can to help save Sandi Clark's life. I’m going to have children someday and I hope that my mum will be able to hold them before she passes.
