Lassiter’s Family Funeral Fund

My name is Cody Arthur Lassiter. I am twenty-two years old and I live in Savannah Georgia. On October 22nd, 2016 I lost my mother to liver failure. It has been a year since I lost my mother, and just recently my father suffered a massive heart attack and passed away on November 22nd, 2017 the day before Thanksgiving.

My father Danny and my mother Deborah were the most wonderful, kind, and generous people I have been blessed to know for the twenty-two years I have been on this earth. My father was from California, and he had a great love of the ocean and the beach. His favorite pastime was fixing and racing cars. My mother; also from California, was the grestest cook I knew. So much so, that she briefly owned her own catering business in Los Angeles. Above all my parents are remembered by many as always supporting me in my passion for art and encouraging me to follow my dreams even at the expense of their financial security and stability. And to that, I can say they were the greatest parents to ever have existed.

We lived in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan for nineteen years.  All of us working long hours to keep the lights on. My mother a banker, my father a local school bus driver.  Both whom were remembered by their piers, as being dedicated parents, and workers. My father became something of a father figure and mentor to almost any student who rode on his bus two and from school, or to football games, or field trips. I would hear stories about him being told in the hallways of my high school for some years. My mother was the hostess with the most, and growing up I remember her kitchen table was always open to anyone and everyone any day of the week.

My parents were always gracious and generous to a fault, and in recent days I have been regaled with stories from friends and family. They all recall that my parents were always putting their needs last before anyone else’s. And it is my hope that I can give back to them for the sacrifices they made for me. However I have been left financially depleted by all the costs that have accumulated since my fathers passing, and left still taking care of my mothers final affairs as well. It is my hopes that I will be blessed enough to give them the peace and rest  they deserve this holiday season.

The funds will have to be available by December 8th, 2017 for services to proceed which is very soon. All donations will go to flowers, funeral costs, and services for both of my parents.  Please share this with anyone you may know, and I thank anyone who can contribute. And blessings be with you this holiday season.
