Get Kids Off The Streets & Into Gymnastics!

The Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (LASG) is a non-profit organization that offers comprehensive artistic and rhythmic gymnastics programs serving children and youth of all ages and all ability levels from beginner to Olympic competitors.  LASG began as a training center for rhythmic gymnastics and has grown to become one of the top rhythmic organizations in the country.  Since 1975, LASG has expanded its artistic gymnastics program and now provides the Los Angeles community with the best all-around gymnastic programs at one of Southern California’s largest training centers.  The expert coaching staff, specialized training facility, and varied programs offer the Los Angeles community a gymnastics program that is committed to excellence.

OUR DILEMMA

We are aware that in the Los Angeles area, the prevalence of gang violence, drugs, teen pregnancy and lack of extra-curricular activities is at an all-time high. Typically children from these areas become the targeted demographic for trouble because of their economical position, and the lack of programs built around their interests. This leaves youth hopelessly vulnerable to becoming a product of their environment, of not fault of their own.

While we’d love to offer scholarships to all of our at-risk families, we are at a standstill without the help from our community. In 2020, it is our goal to ensure all of our low-income families receive full or part scholarships, to relieve their financial burden. LASG recognizes that “it takes a village to raise a child”, which is why we are reaching out to our community leaders, organizations and businesses to rally monetary support. Without it, many of these talented children will be at risk of losing their opportunity to escape the streets. This will be a terrible disservice to them, as we provide a safe, learning environment for them to thrive.

HELP US HELP THEM

We would like to raise funds to provide continued gymnastic services to our inner-city demographic athletes who struggle to make tuition. This will not cover all of the cost of these expenses, but will allow us to reduce the burden of our members in finding other ways to raise the finances.

It is our goal to ensure each athlete can continue to participate, despite his or her financial ability, or lack thereof. If the goal is not met, we will still apply as much of the funds to these expenses. Any amount you donate will be appreciated!

THE WORK WE DO
The LASG offers a broad range of artistic and gymnastics educational and training programs.  These include the boys and girls academy, co-educational program for pre-schoolers (3-5 years of age), rhythmic gymnastics teams, special education rehabilitation, and boys & girls artistic teams.  In addition, LASG runs summer and winter programs, a mobile gym that goes on campus to schools throughout the Los Angeles area and a highly acclaimed rehabilitation program for disabled children.  As of July 1998, LASG had an enrollment of 427 children in 68 classes in the Academy program.  Maximum enrollment for this number of classes is 599.  Twenty Academy students from low-income backgrounds currently receive full or partial scholarships.
