Lasater Family Miracle

In the body of Christ, “if one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:26‬ ‭NLT‬‬) 

It is nearly impossible to be connected in any way to the Let It Shine family and not have been impacted by the Lasater family.  All of our students love coach Zach (22), Aaron (21), Lauren (19), and Olivia (16)... while the younger members of the Lasater family include Gabby (12) and Caleb and Joshua (9 year-old twins) who enjoy participating in classes.  Early in the week, their mother Chaundra suddenly became sick and was rushed to the hospital. After a stressful few days of waiting for a diagnosis, on Friday, January 5, 2018, Chaundra (a single mother of 7) was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. 

We know that our God is a healer who still performs miracles. We are praying to see all cancer disappear!  But while we know this situation did not take God by surprise- “I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers.” (Isaiah 65:24)- it has certainly surprised their family and ours.   We believe that He has already prepared the way to “supply all their needs from His glorious riches” (Philippians 4:19) and, as the body of Christ and members of their extended gym-family, we believe that we are a part of that supply.  We would love for you to join us in providing hope and healing for the Lasater family.  

Here are several practical ways that we can collectively come alongside of them to support their journey: 

1. PRAY 
• Pray for God’s unmatched healing power to miraculously heal Chaundra. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16) We’ve seen God work miracles before and we believe we’ll see Him do it again.

• Pray for Aaron, Lauren, & Zach as they work to care for their mother and 4 younger siblings (who are currently homeschooled by Chaundra).

•Pray that God surrounds the family with peace and comfort, reminding them that they are not alone. 

•The Lasater family was in the middle of moving between houses when faced with this news. Pray that their new home would be filled with an atmosphere of hope, peace, healing, and God’s presence as they get settled. 

2. PROVIDE MEALS

3. GIVE 
Zach, Aaron, Lauren, and Olivia have already taken time off of work in order to care for their mother and siblings and the financial burdens ahead are far greater than what 4 young adults should be responsible to provide. Any amount you donate will go directly to the Lasater family as provision for their practical needs and medical bills.

4. SHARE
