As members of an educational project team due to work for five weeks in a village, in the hot climate of southern India during the summer of 2020.
The group will be living in Kosavapatti village in Tamil Nadu state. They will help in the construction of a dining hall for a large but needy school in a place where there are few resources and where drought has seriously affected the livelihoods of many rural people. The hall will allow the students to eat in reasonable comfort sheltered from the fierce sunshine. It will also be used for larger gatherings of students. The group will also give the students practice in speaking English and help with the curriculum where possible. English is a key language across a country where there are dozens of local languages. The students will also be involved in activities with the children outside of school time.
