DECOFEM (Desaparecid@s de la Costa y Feminicidios de Michoacán) “Disappeared from the Coast and Feminicides in Michoacan” is an association made up of indirect victims of missing persons, in Michoacan, Mexico. Our mission is to make visible the stories of the people who were made invisible.
For years, we have walked alongside other mothers, fathers and relatives who, like us, search for their missing loved ones. Every day, their faces reflect the hope and desperation of those who fight for the truth in a country that often turns its back on them. In January 2025, we have the unique opportunity to take our cause to attend the 1st International Congress on Forced Disappearances, which will take place on January 15 and 16 in Geneva, Switzerland. But we cannot do it without your financial support.
This resource is for the president of the nonprofit DECOFEM, Laura Cazares, creator of this GoFundMe, and for Pedro Gonzalez García, a member of the nonprofit DECOFEM. It will be used for expenses related to the plane flight, accommodation, food, and transportation.
At the 1st International Congress, human rights defenders, international experts and victims of enforced disappearance, from around the world, will meet. It is a crucial space where strategies to seek justice are debated, cases are presented to the international community and governments are held accountable. Representing DECOFEM, at this congress, means taking another step in our fight for the truth. We want to share the testimonies of those who have lost their loved ones, denounce impunity and learn from the experiences of others to strengthen our search here at home. To achieve this, I need your help. Attending this congress not only implies the cost of travel and stay in Geneva, but also the responsibility of carrying on our shoulders the hopes of so many families seeking justice. Your donation will not only get us to the international congress, but will become a tool to continue demanding answers.
What will we do with your help?
• Raise the voices of those who cannot speak: We will bring real stories and allegations to an international audience who can press for change.
• Learn from experts and allies: We will bring back legal strategies and knowledge that will help us strengthen our fight for justice.
• Build bridges of solidarity: I will establish alliances with organizations around the world to strengthen our causes.
Be part of this change! Every donation is one step closer to achieving justice for our families. This is not just another conference; It is the hope of hundreds of people looking for answers.
Donate today: The amount doesn't matter; Every contribution adds up.
Share this campaign: Help us reach more people who want to join this cause. Together we can take our fight to a global stage and tell the world that we will never forget our missing loved ones. Thank you for being part of this effort.
