Larry Williams Transplant Fund

Donation protected
Larry Williams is a fun-loving, compassionate, caring man.  He was a professional athlete in his youth, and remained active until his illness.  His outgoing personality is contagious, as anyone who has been in his company can attest to.  He loves his family and friends unconditionally.

Larry was first diagnosed with heart failure in 2006 at the age of 52.  Four years later he had a pacemaker/defibrillator placed due to atrial fibrillation.  Since 2015, he has experienced cardiac arrest seven times.  Larry has been in and out of the hospital since April 2015.  This past January he survived a high-risk, 10-hour surgery to implant a left ventricular assist device (LVAD).  An LVAD is a battery-operated, mechanical pump, which helps the main pumping chamber of the heart pump blood to the rest of the body.  Since that time, the right side of the heart has continued to fail.  At this point, he is hospitalized indefinitely on this life-supporting device, along with continuous intravenous infusions supporting the right side; a heart transplant is the only option remaining.  The critical nature of his condition has moved him to a higher priority on the donor list, but when that heart will become available is unknown.

Larry needs your help.  His goal is $50,000.  This is to cover medical expenses, medications and additional costs pertaining to his health condition.  He is patiently awaiting news that a heart is available.  Larry’s upbeat attitude is an inspiration to all that know him.  He has been fondly nicknamed “The Governor” by the staff on his hospital floor.  Every obstacle Larry has encountered in his life, including surviving cancer, has been done with dignity and with great faith.

Thank you for taking the time to read his story.  Every donation is greatly appreciated.
