Larry Renfro and his wife, Karin, fell in love with Jamaica, visiting more than 160 times. It became their home away from home, filled with friendships, laughter, and a deep connection to the people.
In 2020, COVID and declining health made travel impossible. On April 13th, Larry passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy defined by generosity and heart.
Larry was a proud supporter and founding member of The Hearts of Youth Foundation, working closely with the Salvation Army and the Nest Home orphanage in Kingston, Jamaica. Every year, he made it his mission to ensure the children had a Christmas party, gifts, and better living conditions.
Now, we want to carry that forward.
With the support of Larry's family and in Larry’s honour, we are raising funds to rebuild and update the orphanage’s playground.
If Larry ever touched your life, or if this story moves you, please consider donating. Every dollar goes directly to the children and helps continue the love and kindness Larry gave so freely.
Thank you from all of us at The Hearts of Youth Foundation.
