‌Larry was originally diagnosed two and a half years ago with uncontrolled Heart Failure complicated with Bradycardia, Atrial Fibrillation, Cardiomyopathy, and Hypertension. In January of 2015, Dr. Umang Patel, Larry's electrophysiologist with Ohio Valley Heart Care in Evansville, Indiana referred him to The Cleveland Clinic Heart Clinic. Dr. Thomas Dressing, an Electrophyisiologist at Cleveland Clinic immediately contacted Heart Failure specialist Dr. Miriam Jacob to team with him to find out the cause of Larry's heart issues. Numerous tests were run and a week after the initial visit, Dr. Jacob called and requested Larry return for additional testing including a heart biopay for Cardiac Amyloidosis, a rare disease that mimcs uncontrolled heart failure and other heart related problems such as fluid retention, fatigue, shortness of breath, and gout. There is no cure or current treatment for Cardiac Amyloidosis. Life expectancy is typically five to seven years however, Larry has been told he most likely has 3 years. Currently Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, and Boston General have ongoing research and drug trials. Larry was initally in a drug trial but had to discontinue participating after collasping and breaking his patella. Insurance does not cover Cleveland Clinic. Currently he owes them over $25,000 with more debt to occur. Its an eight hour car ride from his home to the team of doctors in Cleveland and most visits require him to stay overnight as the long trip causes large amounts of fluid gain and fatigue. Since his diagnosis in March, he has been hospitalized three times for no less than six days each time. He has been encouraged by the Pallative Care doctor to begin completing his "bucket list" as he will find himself worsening daily. Of course, this also takes resources and finances. We believe in a God who is greater and stronger than anything on Earth! We also believe that God has given medicine and doctors. Please stay in prayer for Larry, Lisa, and Baileigh. Also be in prayer in how you can help Larry, wheather its financially or helping complete items on his bucket list. All help will be greatly appreciated. God's blessings to you and thank you for helping Larry.
