Larry's Lungs

Donation protected
Seven years ago my Dad, Larry, was diagnosed with an aggressive lung disease. Interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis.  He was told his life expectancy was 5 years. He has beat that time line! Praise God!

For him to continue his journey he needs a lung transplant as his lungs are dying and the disease is not reversible. Over the last 2 years he has undergone numerous tests and procedures to get on the transplant list and stay as healthy as he can.  All of his hard work has paid off and he is on the list for a double lung transplant.

Unfortunately, on Monday March 25,2019 he hit a fork in the road. His home oxygen tanks are no longer providing enough support for his dying lungs. He was hospitalized at UCLA in ICU. He will remain there until his donor lungs are available and we have no idea how long that may be.

My parents live in Riverside, Ca. and the drive back and forth to LA is too hard for my Mom and Grandma. The doctors say the best thing for him is to have visitors and laugh. My parents are living on social security so their income is limited and My Mom wants to spend all of the time she can with him. We are trying to raise funds to get my Mom an airbnb near the hospital and help cover other costs. Anything you can give would be a tremendous help.
