A great man passed away today. 11/23/20. Larry Blocker, my bother, lost his battle with covid-19. He attended Hollywood HS in Hollywood CA before attending Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO. He served our country honorably as an officer in the USMC. Most of us came to know him as a cadet at WMA. He is the tall guy in front with the huge smile in the picture. He had a larger-than-life personality with a huge heart. A close friend said Larry was his litmus test for honor, integrity and character. I couldn't agree more. Larry lived his life by example. He dropped what he was doing and spent two weeks sitting by my mother's bedside until she passed away. That's just the kind of guy he was. He would do anything for anybody.
If you knew Larry, you knew the positive impact he had on everyone he came in contact with. If you didn't know him, know this, he felt it was not only his responsibility to serve his country and fellow man but his honor to protect the freedoms that we cherish every day.
Our oldest brother said "God broke the mold when he made Larry. He called you back to heaven because he saw that there needed to be more men like you so we had to re-create from the real thing we hope to see you again someday brother thanks for all you gave."
I'm raising money to defray his medical expenses that are left behind. It's been estimated that after a month in the hospital and three weeks in ICU he incurred over $1M in medical bills. Even if his copay is 10% the remainder is over $100K. But likely it is more than that.
