My name is Shea Nyquist and I am on a mission to break the Electric Motorcycle Landspeed record.

I've been an Electric vehicle enthusiast for a long time. Electric motors offer such amazing efficiency and design simplicity.
Right now, electric vehicles are just starting to gain momentum and have some major downfalls that make them not as appealing as there gas counterparts.
My goal is to help push the electric transportation market up to he same standard as the Gas equivalents and them surpass them.
If electric vehicles are given a chance to mature, they will be levels above gas vehicles in every manner.
Faster, cheaper, less maintenance and much better for the environment.
In order for that maturing to happen, we have to prove that the technology can provide.
that's what I want to do, I want to build a motorcycle that can beat them all, gas or electric.

I've been working on this project for the last two years. It all started when My wife and I went to Bonneville to watch the Motorcycle landspeed trials.
I got to meet all of the top guys and see all of the amazing machines that are designed to break records.
While out at the salt, I marveled the creative engineering that goes into making such a vehicle.
When we returned home, my brain was on a reoccurring loop of landspeed designs. I have an aerospace degree and I have been working in the EV industry for half a decade.
I became obsessed with finding components and trying to design the perfect motorcycle. After running the numbers, I realized that this project would be insanely expensive
undetoured, I look for equivalent alternatives and then revised my design. after months of scouring all of my resources, I happened upon a battery that was meant the recycling bin.
Along with the battery I bartered a prototype power train in with the deal.
I took it home, disassembled it and found that only 1% of the cells had gone bad!
From there On, I knew that I had enough of the project to make the rest of it. I tried used recycled materials whenever possible. and make anything I could to keep the cost low

Over the last couple of decades, I had been building crazy custom motorcycles as a hobby.
I collected tools when they were on sale or as they were needed. when I couldn't find a tool or it was too expensive, I would just make it.

The equations that drive the landspeed design are not all that intuitive. After playing with different designs, I realized that I would have to ask people with more experience than me.
When I hit a major design decision, I would seek out the experts and ask endless questions trying to find any delicious nuggets of precious knowledge.
What I came to realize, was that there is an amazing community of landspeed racers that are out there just wanting to help each other out!
Many of them opened there doors to me, allowing me to see their bikes and pick their brains

At this point in the project, I have completed the design and construction of the bike. I am now moving into the testing phase and looking for some one to help build the aerodynamic body.
My goal is to run the bike at a couple of different locations this summer. In order for that to happen I need your help!
I have been scraping along with this project for some time. spending my extra cash on safety equipment and raw materials, but some of the bigger ticket items are coming up.
In order to break the record, I will need more safety equipment, money for gas and logistics, help with the body construction and I'm sure there will be a bit more I didn't expect.
your support could be the difference between this working or not!

Right now the motorcycle is using a recycled powertrain and old battery cells and it still will break a record!
imagine if I can get new equipment, the futures goals of beating the gas teams are not too far off and I have designed the bike to adapt to new powertrains.
If I can make this work, I can upgrade quickly
