Larissa's Internship to Slovakia!

Thank you for finding my support page! I am so excited to have the opportunity to fulfill my internship with Moody Bible Institute teaching English in Slovakia. Your donation will help support me to travel to Slovakia and volunteer teaching English in three different camps this July.
I recently graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a bachelor's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). In order to complete my graduation requirements at Moody, I must finish a teaching internship at an international location.
This July, my fiancé, Stephen, and I will be travelling to Slovakia to teach English to the local communities.
Trip Details: For the first two weeks of our stay, we will be in two different cities, one called Lucanec and one called Velky Kritis. In each city, we will be helping to run an English summer school program with the missionaries who live there long-term. There will be a morning program that includes a worship time and a small message, then, in the middle of the day, we will be in a classroom teaching English to a specific age group. I have been tasked with writing the English lessons, not just for myself, but for the other teachers in the school as well. During the last week, Stephen and I will be traveling to a Bible camp in the mountains of Slovakia. There, we will still be practicing English with the students who attend, but our primary focus will be sharing the gospel. Each day will consist of multiple messages, one-on-one time, and worship services. The format will be similar to American Bible camps, except almost all of the students are either self-proclaimed atheists or defiant towards Christianity in some manner. This is why our time alone with them is so crucial, because it gives us an opportunity to share our faith in a way that is personal and immersive.

In country cost - $800
Internship tuition fee - $710
Total cost of trip: $2410
Prayer: Please pray for the hearts and minds of the students that Stephen and I will be interacting with, that God would soften them and make them more receptive to His truth. Also, that God would prepare us spiritually before and during the trip to reach people who do not know Him - that we would be His hands and feet in a spiritually dark place.
