Dear friends and family of Lannie W. Flickinger,

On Friday, November 10th, 2017, my nephew Lannie was doing one of his favorite activities—practicing for a motocross race. Unfortunately, he over jumped a step-up and was badly injured. He was rushed to Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, CA where, by the grace of God, he received life saving treatment in the ER. He endured massive trauma to his lungs causing severe bleeding and constricting his ability to breathe. He had to undergo a massive blood transfusion protocol in order to keep him alive. He was then put in a medically induced coma, given meds to paralyze his body, and put on a respiratory ventilator (life support system) to help his body recover from the trauma. He remains in this state today. It is nothing short of a miracle that God has allowed him to remain with us at all. The damage to his lungs is the most life threatening part of the injuries, but he also sustained 7 broken ribs on the right side, a broken clavicle, and a broken scapula (all on the right side). Those injuries have not been addressed due to the severity of his lung trauma. The doctor’s have anticipated, even after 96 hours in a paralytic induced coma, he will need to remain in this state for as long as another week. With that being said, after he comes out of this state, his recovery process is going to be long and strenuous.

If you know Lannie, he would not like asking for help from people. He is a very modest man that prides himself in providing for his family. However, if you know Lannie, he would be the first person to help anyone in need. He is a faithful man of the Lord with such a kind, gentle soul. His wife, Melissa, and his two children, Bailey and Karly continue to be by his side at the hospital.

Besides all the outpouring of priceless prayers and offers of help, this is a way for those who know and love Lannie and his family, to help. The long road ahead will be painful and difficult. I'm hoping this campaign eases some of the stress this beautiful family is living.

God Bless,
(Aunt) Debbi Wicks
