Lanier Recovery Fund

In the early hours of October 13th, Ronald Lanier found his whole world destroyed. Edenton Fire department responded to a house fire at 12:45am. His house was engulfed in flames and sadly, his daughter was lost in the fire. He and his wife thankfully escaped. The fire was started on the stove and quickly claimed everything around it. It was ruled as accidental.
We have contacted emergency housing to find Ronald a temporary home and have come to learn that the waiting list for the county is over 3 years long. He and his wife are currently staying with family in the area for as long as they are able.
To compound this tragedy, Ronald’s wife has recently struggled with breast cancer and has been unable to work leaving the sole financial responsibility on Ronald. This along with other recent tragedies and hardships have left his family in a constant state of hopelessness.
Nothing and no amount of money can bring back his daughter. The amount of pain this family must be feeling is immeasurable. We are asking for any donation that may help this family start over from the ground up and begin to rebuild their lives.
