Laney's Medical and Funeral Costs

Donation protected
In April of 2002 a very special little girl was born to the world. Her circumstances would be like no other and her struggles would be uncomparable. Laney Marie Arriaga  was told she wouldn’t survive the first hour, day, month, year but defied all odds and was a miracle each and every day. Little did the doctors know she was a fighter and would prove them all wrong by living to just a few weeks shy of 16 years old.

Laney was able to have a somewhat normal life. She was a sophomore in high school, made friends and went on trips with her family.  They made it their goal to give her the world.  In December of 2016 she was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension which there is currently no cure for.

During her life, Laney had approx. 40 surgeries.  She lived with her dad, Chuck, and her 11 year old sister, Liliana. She called and spoke to her mom everyday to tell her all of the interesting things she’s done or where she’s gone. Anyone who knows this family knows how much love they have.  Laney was always a fighter. She had such a wonderful and beautiful life despite all the medical and physical issues she had been through. She loved the color purple, and all things sweet, especially orange ice cream and cheesecake! She loved being flexible and being able to use her feet like hands, even braiding her hair. But most importantly she loved her family more than anything.

Laney used to talk about an alternate universe where she had no pain or medical issues, had both arms and could run and play with her sister outside. No tubes, pokes, or hospital stays.  She can go there now waiting with her grandfathers and others for her family.

She touched so many lives with her infectious personality and soul filled heart. She was so smart and even a little spit fire at times. Her dad nicknamed her trigger for the hair trigger on her temper. She had a contagious smile and laugh and was quite competitive when it came to uno, mancala or Mario kart. Everyone Laney met she had a positive impact on.  She’s changed people to make them more patient, kind, loving, and so many other aspects. She was always a blessing and still will be after her passing.  The decision was made by her family for Laney to be an organ donor and she will help at least 3 different families.

Laney’s care in the hospital and her funeral were not a cost that her family had anticipated at this time. Please help us raise money to help her family cover the current and future costs while they deal with the emotional and spiritual aspects of Laney’s passing. This money will also help fund a trip for Chuck and Lily after everything has settled down. They need and deserve it! If you cannot help financially, please help by sharing this link and spreading the word.

Fly to Jesus, Laney! One day we will join you running around in Heaven when God is ready for us.
