Landon's Challenge

Hello all! My name is Michael Claeys. My wife Megan and I have a two and a half year old son named Landon. He is a special little boy that can light up a room with his contagious smile! However, Landon had a rough start to life.
A very long story made short, my wife had some complications when she was 32 weeks pregnant. As a result Landon went without oxygen for a time and also suffered a brain hemorrhage. He has been diagnosed with HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy) and Cerebal Palsy.
Landon has a lot of obstacles that he faces everyday, and will have to face for the rest of his life. This has got me thinking of everything that people, myself included, take for granted. The little things that we do and don't even think about are things that individuals like Landon have to work extra hard to do.
Because of this, I have decided to take on a challenge with my friends and family to show not only Landon but all the individuals who suffer from movement disorders that we sympathize with their plight and how much they inspire us everyday!
On October 1st of this year, myself along with some family and friends will participate in a Tough Mudder Challenge to bring awareness to Cerebal Palsy. It is the perfect challenge as I believe it symbolizes all the obstacles these individuals face everyday! It is our small way of trying to understand what individuals with Cerebal Palsy and other movement disorders go through everyday!
Along with participating in this challenge, we would also like to raise money to donate to various charities that help and provide services for individuals with movement disorders. Some charities we would like to donate to are United Cerebal Palsy (UCP) as well as other local charities such as Mel's Pig Roast and organizations like Ozaukee Therapies that help individuals like Landon everyday!
Any donation that you can give would be more appreciated than I can express in words! Along with your donations, I also ask for your prayers for all the individuals like Landon with movement disorders! I know that not only my family would be grateful, but all the families who are facing the struggles of Cerebal Palsy would as well.
I have a goal set of $5000.00, but if we could raise even $5.00 I would consider this a success! The real goal is to create awareness!
