Land O' Lakes Library Greening

Tax deductible
Our Land O' Lakes library is one of the most utilized and beloved buildings in Pasco County. It was built in 1999 and hasn't been upgraded with any energy saving devices since then so its carbon footprint and electric bill are enormous. We'd like to change that. I'm Camellia Moors, the Founder of the Land O' Lakes High School Green Club and a lifelong Land O' Lakes resident. I have made it my mission to cut the carbon emissions and average $48,500 annual electric bill in half, but we need your help.

County funds cover maintenance, but there's very little for improvements that can seriously save electricity like UV window shading, LED lighting, motion sensing light-switches, and programmable timers. If we raise enough funds, we will complete these items and then move on to the bigger-expense things like air-conditioning upgrades, solar panels and added insulation. We would like to raise our initial funding goal of $1,000 by May 1, 2018.

We are working directly with Friends of the Pasco Library to accomplish our goals which will benefit all library users and Land O'Lakes taxpayers. My hope is that library patrons will see the efficiency improvements and bring those ideas home to their own homes to create a snowball effect, exponentially cutting the carbon footprint of Land O'Lakes for generations. Won't you help us help the planet?
