Lets Share Land by the Lake

The Peoples Project invites all those who are part of the larger global movement of sustainability, collective action, and intentional community to join together to create a new beautiful, shared, ecologically friendly space in Celina, Tennessee (with LAKE ACCESS!) (pictured below)

The idea is to purchase these 16 acres to be placed in a land trust to ensure that the land always remains a section of shared earth under the values of Autonomy, Peaceful Cooperation, Equality, and Sustainable Earth Stewardship. Apart from the guidelines specifically outlined in this trust, the rest of the organizational structure of the space will be decided upon overtime by the people who decide to dedicate their time to steward this land, as long as they uphold these four values listed above. The space can evolve according to the needs of the community, and will exist as part of a network of permaculture and mutual aid. We feel passionate that no one can personally own the earth, and if many people pitch in small amounts, we can establish shared spaces for people to care for one another, and the earth.

The Land

This land is 16 acres being sold for $32,000, we have already raised $18,800 and are hoping to crowd-fund the rest from those who resonate with this vision. It has access to Dale Hollow Lake (8 minutes walking) (we could play on boats and explore the lake), it is almost entirely wooded area and is significantly sloped (we can dig into the hill and build little hobbit homes ). It has a bit of a bumpy dirt road to access but ample parking space and public road access (not landlocked). We think its an uncommonly good deal for this property because you cannot run electric or water there from the grid--off-grid for the win!

This is an initiative of the People’s Project which has been working on a Network of Land and People connected by Mutual Aid for the past 7 years. If this land does sell to someone else before we are able to fund the entire amount, the money raised will be put towards a different land purchase with the same intention explained above, and of course with consideration of the desires of those donating.
