Please take a moment and read our story. My husband Lance Thomas was involved in a motorcycle  accident on 5/18/17 .  He was driving his motorcycle that he had just got out the shop in front of our home so our 2 boys could see their daddy on his bike, when something malfunctioned with the throttle causing him to lose control of the bike and hit a brick wall. He was taken by ambulance to TRMC were they found that he had internal bleeding and a broken pelvis. He was air lifted to Palemetto health Richland, and upon arrival had to have immediate angiogram to stop the internal bleeding. The next day 5/19 Lance had a second surgery for his broken pelvis. They placed a plate and 3 screws on each side and a screw in his side to fix his pelvis. He also tore his ACL, PCL and MCL ligaments in his left knee. On his right ankle he severely tore a ligament and fractured it as well. He is currently in the hospital and should be moving to an acute rehab sometime next week where he will be staying 14 days before being able to come home. He will be wheelchair bound for 10 weeks or more. He is going to have a long road to full recovery. They have him out of work for 3 months. We discovered that some how Lance did not sign up for short term or long term disability. Which means once his vacation and sick leave 106hrs total runs out he won't be getting a paycheck. Lance covers his family with health insurance through his job and since he will not be getting a paycheck it has to be paid or it will be cut off. Lance' s wife Mary works full time as a medical lab tech at a local doctors office but her check alone will not cover their health insurance and monthly bills.

Lance is happily married to Mary Azzarelli Thomas his wife of almost 7 years.  They reside in Bamberg, South Carolina. He is an amazing dad to two small boys Stallone (3)  and Selleck (1). He served his country as an International Police advisor for the U.S State Department in Iraq and Afghanistan.  He has served the community with 17 years of Law Enforcement service. He is currently the Red Bank Resident Deputy with the Lexington County Sheriffs Department.

I am starting a go fund me page on his behalf  and our family to help  with the health insurance first off and then our  monthly bills. The hospital bills that are about to start pilling up as well will be paid with these funds. If we can exceed the goal of $10,000,00, all additional funds will be  donated to the Police Benevolent Association to support Law Enforcement families who have been struck by tragedy.

I want to first off thank our amazing Lord Jesus Christ for saving my husband life. We were beyond blessed that things aren't as bad as they could have been. Secondly I want to thank every one that has prayed for him and our family please keep them coming. Thirdly the people that have gone out of there way to give to us you all don't know how much it means to us. It has taken so much of the burden off of my shoulders and helped me to be able to care more for my family knowing that our bills will be handled. Lots of love to everyone Mary A. Thomas
