Lancaster 'Just Jane' Fuselage Jig

Donation protected
The restoration of Avro Lancaster NX611 'Just Jane' to airworthy condition makes good progress every year and this year there are plans to further the project but we need your support. Please click on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDac-foYvUc&t=169s  to see what we're all about.

The next step in the restoration of NX611 is to build a jig for the rear fuselage section so it can be rebuilt next winter. The jig will cost £7,000 plus VAT and is being produced by our friends at Intelect Engineering Ltd. We are in the design phase with the basic drawings produced ready for the accurate measurements and proving stage. The jig is required in order to keep the structure of the fuselage section stable so that we can remove the skins and parts of the structure and ensure it is rebuilt correctly as per original.

The jig needs to be completed this month (January 2021) in order for the fuselage to be trial fitted in the jig and then refitted to NX611 ready for the spring taxy runs.

The production of the jig this year will save precious time next winter when we come to strip the fuselage and start the restoration process.  The restoration process requires all of the rivets to be replaced and all skins/structure to be inspected and repaired where necessary.

The coronavirus has sadly seriously affected the funds we have this year so any help you can give to the project would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and hope you enjoy the attached video.
