Mazunte Hurricane Relief Fund - Rebuild La Nada

This is La Nada, an educational and cultural center focused on permaculture, which means the regeneration and conservation of the ecosystem. La Nada was constructed in a village off the coast of Oaxaca by the uncompromising efforts of both locals and foreigners and lead by experts in bioconstruction. This village is Mazunte.

On May 30th, while receiving our first generation of 30 young apprentices, Hurricane Agatha hit land in several west Mexican beaches, leaving catastrophic damage to many towns, namely Mazunte.

Due to the nature of our collaborative will, the call for human force at this time has received a very positive response. Nevertheless, we need economical support to cover material losses, infrastructural losses, groceries, water, building supplies and tools now more than ever.

Together with the hydro-environmental sustainability association Fracteles Costa Pacífico, La Nada is devoted to finding solutions for waste and water crisis in Mazunte. Because of this, we will allocate 25 percent of the donations towards these efforts as the crisis has become more urgent than ever.

As socio-environmental reformers, it is our duty to support and empathize with our community. We call on your economic support at this time to rebuild this cultural learning center, not just to maintain, but to reframe and refine the foundation for which La Nada and Mazunte rest upon; that is, uncompromising sustainability, environmental awareness, and continuous infrastructural innovation for a better future.

Esta es la Nada, un centro educativo y cultural enfocado a la permacultura, es decir: a la regeneración y conservación del ecosistema. Nuestro espacio, ubicado en Mazunte, un poblado de la costa Oaxaqueña, fue construido mediante el esfuerzo voluntario de gente local y extranjera liderada por expertos y expertas en bioconstrucción.

 El pasado 30 de mayo, mientras recibíamos a nuestra primera generación de 30 jóvenes aprendices, el huracán Agatha tocó tierra en varias playas mexicanas del pacífico, dejando estragos devastadores en muchas localidades, entre ellas Mazunte.

 Gracias a nuestra naturaleza colaborativa y de voluntariedad, la convocatoria que lanzamos solicitando esfuerzo humano ha obtenido una respuesta muy favorable, sin embargo necesitamos soporte económico para cubrir pérdidas materiales y conseguir víveres e insumos.

 En conjunto con la asociación Fractales Costa Pacífico, La Nada es la única organización en la zona que se dedica a encontrar soluciones para la crisis hídrica y el tratamiento de residuos, por ello utilizaremos el 25 por ciento de los donativos para continuar con esta labor, ahora más urgente que nunca.

 Es nuestro deber como agentes de cambio y emprendedores socioambientales solidarizarnos y apoyar a nuestra comunidad. ¿Nos ayudas? Cualquier cantidad que venga de tu voluntad es buena, y también es de gran ayuda compartir está información para que podamos alcanzar nuestra meta en el menor tiempo posible.
