The money raised for this family (MY family, my cousins) is to help them with their legal and medical costs that have reached into the hundreds of thousands. They are being treated unfairly, being blamed for death in an effort to hide malpractise, and being abused by the system. Every part of the systerm (doctors, hospitals, judges, witnesses, etc) and need help. Read their story as it's told by me:
What if you found out your life was a lie? What you thought everyday was completely untrue.
You think your mom sleeps at the hospital with your baby sister every night. That you can't see her because she's sick, and you can't wait for your little sister to come home! Then you find out it's not true. She's not here. Your mom is in trouble, your sister is gone, and you're still so young you have no idea what is going on. Would you be able to look at the world again?
Life can be cruel. But sometimes we get lucky and a miracle happens.
When we catch a baby not breathing and can keep them alive, it's usually refereed to as a miracle. A miracle, luck, intuition- you can call it what you want but it's still amazing. Why is a family being tortured for saving their daughter? Before paramedics arrived she was breathing, concious, warm and pink. And within minutes after the FINAL arrival of an ambulance things slowly slipped downhill. Snowy days are nothing new to New Yorkers. But an ambulance from down the road taking ages to arrive is. Although the baby was doing fine paramedics still took her to the hospital, after they slipped with the baby in their arms. They walked her to the ambulance that was farthest from the house and proceeded in keeping the doors open and then yelling at the mother when she questioned why her daughter wasn't being given oxygen, and why they weren't leaving to go to the hospital.
Lana passed away weeks later after going into a coma. Doctors are blaming the mother saying she shook her even though both autopsies show no injury. World renowned pathologist, Dr. Michael Baden and the NYC Medical Examiner found absolutely is no injury to Lana, at all.
Lana's big brothers don't know she is no longer alive. They think their mom sleeps at the hospital with their baby sister every night. And they are so proud to be big brothers! When in reality she's passed away, they weren't allowed to attend the funeral, and their mom is not allowed to be alone with them. Not even for bedtime. While Lana was in a coma, her mother wasn’t given access to visit her daughter. This miracle child passed away, after it had been prevented once. A loving father felt the need to check in on his already miracle daughter while she was taking a nap. Something many parents, babysitters, and even siblings don't always think to do. After years of working to conceive children, then a daughter, her parents did everything they could for her. They loved her, cared for her, went to extreme measures for her. And it was all ripped away for no reason. So why are her parents being punished and put through legal lawsuits for no reason?
Her family is in massive debt just trying to prove their innocence in Family Court (WHILE there is no proof of any trauma to Lana) and keeping themselves together as a family. A family still grieveing from a horrible loss.
