Greeting,
My name is Tracy Thomas and I have been married for 14 years. My husband is Lamone Thomas and we have two children, one daughter and a son. I am writing this letter to describe what this year has been like. The reasons are too numerous to list; however, the most recent reason is my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer in March, and our world was turned upside down. We both had to take time off from work. This all started in February. His last day of work was Febuary 28, 2014, he has worked this job for 19 years, then one day it all changed. He was hospitalized four and a half months because of difficulties with the surgery. After surgery the surgeon informed us that Lamone left us twice during surgery but the doctors were able to bring him back. That's how we know God has work for him to do because he didn't let him leave us. With all this going on our mortgage has not been fully paid since February. We have prayed an cried and cried and prayed some more. We do not like to ask for help, we just try to work harder at handling the situation, praying things get better and back the way they were. We have a number of medical bills due to several surgeries plus the chemotherapy and radiation treatment. We have good insurance but after they pay their part we have the remaining balance which is impossible to take care of right now because of no income at this time. During the treatments and doctor visits we basically used our savings and 401K fo pay for gas, food, medicine, medical supplies and hotel stays just to be able to receive the best treatment they had to offer. We are truly thankful for the ones who take time out of their busy life to care about a friend.
