Lali's Life After the Earthquake

In November 2019, Albania was hit with a devastating 6.4 magnitude earthquake.  Lali, a special friend of Albanian Trip, lost much of the contents in their apartment in Durrës, one of the areas most affected by the tragedy. 

Lali's special status as one of Albania's last Sworn Virgins makes him/her a unique individual who needs our protection.  Lali was given the role of patriarch after being born a woman, and he/she has since lived the life of a man, preserving an important part of Albanian ethnographic heritage.

We are trying to raise $3000 Canadian dollars so Lali can purchase whatever he/she needs for their apartment - a washing machine, television, etc.  Since GoFundMe is not supported in Albania, one of our Canadian team members is in charge of the fundraising and will send the funds to us so we can make sure that Lali benefits.

We know there are many people who have expressed an interest in donating to help in relief efforts (thanks to those who already have!), but we wanted to provide a further outlet for concerned friends to give money directly to a person in need.
