Lala + Lula Fund

Lala Sloatman is a single creative compassionate parent at Carpenter. Her daughter and sunshine Lula is in 2nd grade. Lula is fearless, funny, and her ability to entertain and do spot on impressions is the light of her life! Lala has been diagnosed with black Mold toxicity. As a result she also has Fibromyalgia, Multi Chemical Sensitivity, Chronic Inflammation Response Syndrome, and Autoimmune issues. She has been struggling with insomnia, migraines, and vertigo for two years, and needs to relocate in order to heal and properly detox. Lala hasn’t been able to work a 9-5 job due to the swelling, stiffness, and pain, and she and Lula have been living with her father but unfortunately they have had a falling out. Lala needs a new place for her and Lula that is healthy and positive so Lula can continue to thrive.

Lala also needs a car so she can work for Uber and Postmates while she heals and saves money. They have literally lost everything in the last few years but they believe in integrity and kindness and plan to start from scratch and rebuild their lives. Ideally their new home will be close to school, Lula’s father has been unable to help which is why we are asking our amazing community to support their family. They are hoping to sublet or Airbnb until they get back on their feet, and have reached out to all possible resources and have pending appointments for financial aid and disability, however this can take a few months. Lala is extremely devoted to being the most present healthy mom to Lula possible and shield her from the challenges she is facing. They love our school and is so grateful for all the compassion, support, and help thank have already received from our amazing community.
