Lakota Waldorf Pow Wow
Dear Friends of Lakota Waldorf School,
We are very excited to host our first Pow Wow in celebration of Waldorf school’s 100th anniversary, September 19th 2019
We need your help raising $2000 for the following expenses that we are facing in order to call this wonderful event into life:
- The dinner for all dancers and community members
- Incentive for 4 drum groups
- Announcer – Eyapaha
- Biodegradable plates, cups and cutlery for the dinner
Location of our Pow Wow grounds
Some specials we will be having besides the dancing are:
Honoring of Lakota Waldorf School’s founders
A presentation on bees
Crowning of Lakota Waldorf royalty
We invite all local schools, students and families to attend and celebrate with us.
Pilauŋyayapi - We thank you all for your support!
The Teca Wacipi Okolakiciye is an organization on the Pine Ridge Reservation geared to preserve the culture in our youth and honor the spirit of our people. We are very happy to see that a vast majority of our students have become proud dancers and participants in Teca Wacipi Okolakiciye’s Powwows!
This is a plastic free event
We will be using 100% biodegradable plates, cutlery, cups and napkins and encourage everyone to bring their own reusable dishes. Lakota Waldorf School is working diligently on becoming a plastic free campus.
