Our club relies primarily on events to raise the necessary funds to purchase grooming equipment and to build maintain our 13 warm up shelters located on our 400km trail system.
Thankfully these trails and shelters are providing some much needed outdoor activities to so many people during these trying times. We are extremely proud and happy to be able to provide this service to our snowmobiling public.
However this does create extra costs to the club such as extra grooming, more wood for the shelters, fuel, signage, shelter maintenance and Covid 19 precautions
Also due to Covid 19 we have been severely restricted in our ability to raise funds through our usual events such as rallies, snow shows, races etc.
THIS IS WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
In case you are wondering why we need so much help here are some facts about our costs that you may not know.
A second hand groomer costs $250,000 and by the time it is paid off it is time for an upgrade.
The groomer uses $500/day for fuel Estimated days of operation each year is about 70-80 days.
Maintaining the grooming equipment - $10,000 - $15,0000 per year
A bag of firewood for the shelters is $100 and we will use 80-100 bags of wood this season.
Trail signs like stop and yield are $8 per sign and the red stakes are $3 stake - we spend roughly $5000/year on signage to replace ruined or stolen signs
