Lake Oswego Youth Climate Strike Buses

Hey everyone!
We are the Lakeridge Green Team, a group led by high school students to advocate for green infrastructure and sustainable practices in our school and community.
With the consequences of climate change becoming ever more clear and dire with each passing day, a new powerful wave of the climate movement has been swelling up over the last couple of years. Young people around the world have been rising up to defend our future, and have been going on strike – every week, all over the planet – for months.
We are joining the movement, and striking with the Sunrise Movement on December 6th. This event is specific to high school students in the Lake Oswego area. At this strike, we will be meeting with multiple Lake Oswego City Council members, including the Mayor, to voice our concerns about the climate crisis. We will also be drafting a youth cover letter to the City's Sustainability Goals, which will be on the Council's desks in 2020.
In order to make this happen, though, we need money for transportation. We want to make the event as accessible as possible, so we need a few buses to transport students to the strike location and back.
Anything helps! We look forward to striking and talking to our representatives.
