My name is Doyinsola Ogunye and I'm the founder of Mental and Environmental Development Initiative for Children (MEDIC, founded in 2009). Our team has been cleaning the Lagos, Nigeria shorelines for 5 years, empowered and educated over 7,000 people and removed over 650 tons of marine debris in this time.
Come 18th to 24th Oct 2020, We will be having the first ever intense 7-day coastal cleanup of the Lagos Shorelines. Hence, this fundraising campaign.
Funds from this campaign will be used for logistics, purchasing cleaning materials and health and safety kits for 2000 volunteers. This exercise will directly benefit individuals residing in the coastal communities of Lagos State ; most especially the vulnerable population helping them live a healthier life.
These funds are needed as soon as 11-Oct-2020.
Our team will be very grateful for your support as we strive in our own little way to educate our citizens, clean our environment and make a long-lasting impact that will outlive us all and transcend generations.
