Kia's Stay In School Campaign

Hello everyone, 

My name is Kia Smith and I am a third year student at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL studying advertising-journalism with a minor in Africana studies.

I'm currently unable to register for this semester due to financial issues and with your financial offering, I can continue my education and graduate on time December of 2016.

My journey in college has not been an easy one, and I've battled everything from depression to the loss of close friends and family members all while managing to be an involved student. Through it all, I've managed to adapt to the adversity in my life and continued to strive for excellence in all things.

Education is EXTREMELY important to me, and any donation that is given will be deeply appreciated. Any funds that are raised that exceed my goal, I plan to create a scholarship fund and donate it to another person in need.
