Lacy's Final Wishes

Donation protected
As most of you know, Lacy lost her battle to stage 4 colon cancer this week. Though her fight was a rollercoaster ride, one thing that we can all agree on is that she put up one hell of a fight. During her 3 year battle Lacy never once showed weakness or gave up hope that one day she would beat the cancer. Even when she was told from the doctors that they expected her to live 3 more months she refused to believe it. I strongly believe her strength and positive attitude alone is what allowed her battle to last 3 years. In this particular situation her stubbornness truly paid off!

These past few years Lacy's sole income was a small amount of disability, leaving her boyfriend to cover life expenses with his income alone. Prior to her being officially diagnosed, she was out of work due to being so sick and not knowing that she had cancer. Due to her being diagnosed at such a young age, there is no life insurance policy or any savings to fall back on. As most know, her mom passed away when she was very young and her dad has never been in her life. The amount of money that has been saved to prepare for this day was only enough to cover Lacy's cremation, urn and a few other various expenses.

During my recent trip to Washington, Lacy finally opened up to me about her final wishes. Anytime this topic was discussed in the past she would always say "I'm not going anywhere". She told her boyfriend Casey and I that her last wish is to be placed in a wall with her mom at Sumner Cemetery, where my brother Jesse is laid to rest. On behalf of her boyfriend and our family, we are asking for your help to make Lacy's final wishes come true! We already know that she's having a party of a lifetime up above with her mom, so let's help her reunite with her mom down here!

I have a flight booked for November 30th to bring her mom's remains back to Washington so that her and Lacy can be placed in a wall, exactly as Lacy described. The placement will likely happen December 1st, but we are still working out all of those details. As most of you probably know, the cost of laying a person to rest is outrageous! Since we know Lacy touched a number of people's lives, we are hoping that any contribution that you may be able to give will help ease the financial costs we are all facing. Every little bit helps and if you are not able to financially help, please spread the word so that anybody Lacy knew has the opportunity.

All of your love this week has been amazing! I love hearing the stories of how Lacy touched so many people's lives. I'm so grateful that my Dad was able to raise Lacy as her own - giving me the sister I never had! Not a day will go by that we won't remember her, laugh about old stories and miss our girl! Thank you to everyone who has showed their support, sadness, stories and good memories! There's no doubt that she was loved during her short time on this earth.
