Faith makes Three-The Lacey's Adoption

Thank you for visiting our Adoption Fundraising page and for investing in our journey to bring a child to his/her forever home! Please know we appreciate every penny, prayer and all the love you continue to give us and that none of this would be possible without your support!

Here's a little background for those who are new to our story:
We have been trying to conceive/grow our family for a combined 9 years, and once everything short of IVF failed, we took a long break to pray and seek the Lord's next step for us with the strong desire to stay within His will. In May of 2012, God spoke to us in a near audible voice leading us to ADOPTION! We began our fundraising efforts and slowly worked on our homestudy process throughout the next year and much to our amazment, we were connected to and picked by a potential "birth-mother" here in Knoxville during her 4th month of pregnancy. We were over the moon with excitment and everything just seemed to fall in place. We fell in love with and grew very close to the birth-mom and her family. We completed our homestudy, built and designed our nursery , named our baby, and praised the Lord for the blessing he was bestowing upon us. Many times throughout the 5 month journey I remember being brought to my knees in tears when realizing the beauty of the story being written and knew in my heart for the first time, that God goes before us and that His plan is 10 times more magical than I could've ever written myself. Although, we knew that with adoption comes the potential for great heartache, and is by no means an easy journey but we had no reservations moving forward that this was supposed to be our story...our forever baby.

On January 14, 2014, at 7:32 am, we stood by the side of the birth-mom while "our baby" was born. My husband cut the cord, she was placed in my arms and, together, we wept. The next 16 hours were the craziest roller coaster ride of our lives. We loved birth-mom with all our hearts and knew she was struggling with her decision, all the while we tried to bond with our new blessing and were torn between her grief and our hearts. During the middle of the night feeding, she heard her babies cries, and that's when our dreams were shattered. Birth-mom changed her mind...couldn't imagine going on without her child in her arms. Who can blame her, at the moment, we couldn't either. After hours of weeping, praying, talking with family and friends, we packed up and left the hospital. We said our goodbyes and went home broken hearted and empty handed, yet again.

But the miracle in all of this is that God has NEVER left our sides, if anything He has literally carried us this past 2 weeks. He sent his army to pray over us, love on us, serve us...we have never felt so loved in our whole lives. The other miracle...we came out on the other side of this valley with more faith in His plan than we had before. God is good, all the time!!! As our pastor said today, "we dont' know the why's but we know the "Who"....and in Him all our faith is placed. Holding onto His promises and excited to see the beautiful story he has yet to reveal to us. Grateful for each of you to walk beside us during this crazy beautiful journey! Love to all!
