Due to my familie's current financial situation and our inability to cover medical expenses due to this unforseen event; I turn to you again community....
It was the first day of class of my senior year at UCSC. As I mounted my bike on my way to my next class, I was going down the hill when a car turned right in front of me, causing me to suddenly press my breaks, the front of the car hit my left leg causing me to fly off my bike onto the hot asphalt. I had never felt a pain so intense. The inside of my skull felt like it was going to erupt. I somehow managed to stay conscious, fighting every sense of comfort to fall asleep. I was flown out of Santa Cruz to San Jose in a helicopter to a hospital that was equipped to treat the severe trauma caused to my head, face and neck. At the hospital I was diagnosed with a broken nose, a fractured c spine vertebrae 1. I also lost my bottom front teeth where my gum was destroyed and got stitches on my upper lip and inside my mouth. My forehead also received lacerations which I got stitches for. My life took a turn in a matter of seconds. My educational goals have been interrupted by this accident and I will not be graduating at the end of spring as planned. I'll be going into surgery soon, but the cost of co payments and follow up treatment as well as medications is out of my budget. I am a student living off of financial aid, but since I am not enrolled in classes this quarter, I have a budget of zero. I am not a trust fund daughter, my parents are barely making it by for their own; struggling with health themselves. Although we stand strong and united- tough times are head of us so I turn to our community for help. We appreciate every piece of help we can get. Thank ya'll and thank you life for keeping me alive.

Debido a la situacion economica de mis padres y nuestra inabilidad de pagar mis gastos medicos le pido la mano a mi comunidad...
Era el primer día de clase de lo que iba ser mi último año para completar mis dos bacheleratos en historia y estudios latino americanos . Acababa de salir de mi primera lectura de el trimestre, contenta y entusiasmada. Iba rumbo hacia mi segunda clase montada en mi bicicleta. Bajaba una tarima corta cuando de repente un carro se atravesó en frente de mi. Sin poder frenar a tiempo me estrellé contra el coche y salí volando de mi bicicleta. Mi cara callo en el asfalto caliente. Cuando me quise levantar no pude. Solo sentía el dentro de mi cabeza ardiendo, un dolor como ningún otro, sentía que mi cráneo iba a explotar. Los paramédicos llegaron y cuidadosamente me subieron a la ambulancia. Había un problema, el hospital cercano no podía recibirme, a si que me mandaron en helicóptero a San Jose.
Ahí estuve por 4 noches y 5 días. Me cocieron la cara y la boca. Se me reventó la frente y se me botaron los dientes de enfrente- destrozándome la encía de abajo. La nariz me quedo fracturada, necesitaré cirugía de reconstrucción. Mi primera vertebrae de la espina dorsal también fracturada. En conclusión, mi tratamiento para recuperación será larga, y desafortunadamente muy costosa. Lo más doloroso es que mi carrera como maestra a sido interrumpida, ya que tengo que tomar tiempo para recuperarme y no podré asistir a mis responsabilidades de estudiante.
Necesito recaudar fondos para mí tratamiento médico y medicinas. Como no estaré inscrita en el trimestre no tendré ayuda financiera de la escuela, que es como me ayudó. Tampoco soy hija de padres ricos, ellxs también están pasando por una temporada difícil al enfrentarse a situaciones económicas y de salud. Por ahora le pedimos ayuda a nuestra comunidad. Cuál quier ayuda se les agradece. Gracias, y gracias a la vida por mantenerme viva.
