Labs & More Emergency Medical Fund

California Labradors, Retrievers and More Rescue (Labs and More) is the fastest growing dog rescue in California.  We are an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(3)c organization.  In 2014 alone, we saved 841 dogs who are in alive and living in forever homes because of the heart, commitment, and continual hard work of our dedicated volunteers. Almost 3,000 dogs all have stories to tell and hearts that are beating today because of this journey we started almost 4 years ago.  We provide a soft bed, safety, medical care, training and love to rehabilitate dogs so they have a chance at life. We partner with trainers, veterinarians, families and volunteers so we can provide lifelong support to the dogs we have rescued and homed.  We seek to save and protect dogs at risk of not surviving the harsh realities of animal shelters. Seniors and dogs with medical challenges are received with open arms.

Over the past 60 days, we have encountered some very expensive medical conditions which have stressed our financial resources, and we desperately need your help!

Merry came to us pregnant and bleeding. We immediately took her in, and she had an emergency C-Section. She had pneumonia and was in very bad shape for 2-3 weeks. Just recently, this adorable girl was adopted.

We had a litter of puppies all come down with Parvovirus. We lost one puppy, but three tiny babies were treated, survived and are in the process of getting adopted.  We had 2 week old pups come down with kennel cough, and are closely monitoring them and getting them the medical treatment they need to survive, grow and thrive.

Maya, an owner surrender, has been diagnosed with an enlarged esophagus. This is not something we can fix, but we have found a $300 apparatus that we can buy and use so she can continue to eat and keep food down.

Mozart, who came to us in need of hip surgery which cost $1,200, received it last week and is recovering nicely.  Jingle Bells, who came to us with a huge open wound on her back received medical care and was adopted this week.

Elsa, our beautiful white girl, who came in with a heart murmur was tested by a specialist to find out she had a heart disease and a limited life expectancy. This was an expensive test but one we needed to do.  A wonderful family met her recently and adopted her.

Chocolate Cake, who has been with us for quite sometime needed continual eye meds and vet care that was costing us about $300 a month with vet visits, testing, and medicine. She was also adopted this week by a caring and wonderful family.

Kringle had to have knee surgery and is recovering nicely. This procedure cost $2,000, but was one we needed to do.

Lebron, a large and beautiful chocolate was rescued from a high-kill shelter extremely sick. We tested for distemper, and thankfully it was negative but he spent 3 days in emergency for pneumonia. He is still sick but making progress, and we expect him to pull through.

Please help us with our avalanche of medical bills so we can continue to treat these dogs and save others who, through no fault of their own, have ended up on a cold shelter floor.  No donation is too small. Your donation is tax deductible and 100% of your chosen amount will go directly to us helping dogs. To find more about us, please go to www.labsandmore.org.
